How safe is the neighborhood I live in?

I have recently moved, and I would like to know %26quot;How safe is the neighborhood I live in?%26quot; I live at 6551 Locke Ave. (zip 76116) in Fort Worth, Texas. Thank you for responding to my question. jd
Hello, JD. Congratulations on your recent move. Different sources provide different measurements about your city and neighborhood. The ranking for your ZIP code, 76116, is four on a scale of one to ten. According to APB%26#146;s News Crime check, a four represents the lower end of a moderate risk for crime. A rating of %26#147;one indicates your risk of violent crime is less than one-fifth the national average.%26#148; A rating of ten %26#147;indicates the risk is 10 times the national average or more.%26quot; http://www.apbnews.com/resourcecenter/datacenter/crimecheck/result.html? zip=76116 According to the Relocation Crime Lab at HomeStore.com, %26#147;Fort Worth, Texas has a Relocation Crime Lab Index of 181 which is a higher crime rate than the national average.%26#148; Crime Category 1999 Figures Robberies 246 Rapes 61 Homicides 11 Aggravated Assaults 396 Motor Vehicle Thefts 764 Crime Lab Index 181 Results, compiled from data reported for 1999 by various government, regional, and local sources, are available at: http://www.homefair.com/homefair/servlet/ActionServlet? pid=134%26amp;cid=homefair%26amp;fromCountry=USA%26amp;toCountry=USA%26amp;fromState=TX%26amp;toState=TX%26amp;previ ousPage=133%26amp;fromCityPreSelect=%26amp;fromCity=4827000%26amp;toCity=4827000 Also, in Morgan Quitno Press%26#39; %26#147;8th Annual Safest City Award%26#148; ranking, Fort Worth was 239 out of 327 cities. This December 2001 survey analyzed six basic crime categories %26#151; murder, rape, robbery, aggravated assault, burglary and motor vehicle theft. http://www.morganquitno.com/cit02safe.htm In 1993, the City of Fort Worth implemented a Neighborhood Patrol Officer Program to increase patrol officer and resident communication. It is foolish to give out your address like that. Also, are you talking safety just in terms of crime, or other safety factors as well? However, I do have a page that will help answer your question in a way other than raw crime statistics for your city. Take a look at this page: http://www.ersys.com/usa/48/4827000/index.htm Now, click on the different Demographics on the left hand side of the screen. You%26#39;ve got age, density, education, ethnicity, families, growth, income, and skills. And they are overlayed onto a map so you can see exactly where you area fits and how it relates to the areas around it. When I buy my next home, I%26#39;m going to use this data, for sure! BTW, you can also pull up air quality, general radon risk, and a few other things. Interesting stuff. It probably doesn%26#39;t COMPLETELY answer your question, but that%26#39;ll give you a few good things to go on. I would have done some more research and given a real ANSWER to your question, but I%26#39;m not authorized to do that yet. Enjoy the website. Who knows HOW they make money off of it.
