I%26#39;m trying to find a source for a dessert I%26#39;m addicted to. In Holland
(and possibly Germany?) it%26#39;s called %26#39;kwark%26#39;. It%26#39;s roughly the same as
what is known as %26#39;fromage frais%26#39; in France (and this would do me). I%26#39;m
looking for the dessert varieties, not the plain kind. The best
possible outcome would be the same products I can buy in Holland,
which are the Danone and Almhof brands. Oh. I%26#39;m not looking for a
recipe; what I%26#39;m looking for is a ready-made product, available in a
store. I%26#39;m located in San Diego, but anywhere in Southern California would do. Hello pelicano,
The Van Nuys German Deli appears to have quark. It%26#39;s not open now or
on Monday, but you can call to confirm availability on Tuesday. The
deli%26#39;s web site is not working; but I called its number, and got a
message indicating that it remains open the same days and hours
indicated on the former web site.

Other German grocery stores in Southern California are listed on the
following pages. (If you%26#39;re curious whether they carry quark, you
should probably call first before driving over, especially since some
stores may no longer exist or may have moved.)

I haven%26#39;t found a source for Dutch kwark in southern California,
though I have found two lists of Dutch grocery stores, including ones
in southern California.

If all else fails, I assume you can find out where to obtain
kwark/quark by contacting the persons who have posted these lists of
Dutch and German shops.
Please let me know if you need any additional information for this answer.

I used these search terms, in various combinations, on Google:
dutch
german
kwark
quark
%26quot;san diego%26quot;
%26quot;los angeles%26quot;
deli
delicatessen
grocery
groceries Thanks for this info, but unfortunately, this doesn%26#39;t answer my
specific question. I called the numbers below, but none of them have
the dessert kwark I am looking for. And it is the dessert variety that
I am specifically looking for (not the plain variety).
